Perry Smith was a decisive Scotsman. He was a logger in the old days, before gasoline engines, and ran his logging crew with a firm hand. He and Edna were members of the Battle Ground Christian Church from a very early date. They may have been charter members. When changes in the church's teaching reached a crisis point, the Smith's changed to the Minnehaha Church of Christ. They were noted for their great hospitality and devotion to the Lord's work.
